How this USMC PFT Calculator scores you

Marines take a three-event Physical Fitness Test worth 300 points. Pick sex and age, enter pull-ups or push-ups, plank time, and 3-mile time, and this page returns event points, total, class, and whether you meet the pass line. Results update as you type so you can adjust one event and see the next class bar move immediately.

Official scoring follows MCO 6100.13A as republished for unit PFTs. Each event needs at least 40 points. The general pass total is 150. Combat arms MOS Marines need 210 on the male age tables. Class bands are fixed: 1st class 235–300, 2nd class 200–234, 3rd class 150–199. Any event under 40 is a fail even when the total looks high.

If you searched for a marine pft calculator, this form is the live scorer. Push-ups are allowed but capped at 70 points, so a 300 is impossible on the push-up option. Choose pull-ups when you want a true max. The forearm plank replaced crunches: 1:10 earns 40 points and 3:45 earns 100 for every Marine, every age, every sex.

Events on the Marine Corps PFT

Upper body is pull-ups (dead-hang, palms away) or push-ups in two minutes. Females and males share the same event choices on the current order; the old flexed-arm hang is not part of today’s recorded PFT. Tables for pull-ups and push-ups are age- and sex-normed. Points between the published 40-point and max rows are linearly interpolated on this calculator.

Core is the forearm plank only. Sit-ups and crunches no longer score. Hold a straight body on the forearms; the clock starts on the command and stops when form breaks or you reach 3:45. Because the plank table is universal, age group only changes your pull-up or push-up row and your 3-mile row.

Cardio is a continuous 3-mile run on a measured course. Faster times score higher. The 40-point and 100-point times shift with age and sex. Enter minutes and seconds the way your monitor records them; the result panel shows how far you are from the min and max rows for your group.

A marine corps pft calculator should also explain combat arms scoring. Checking the combat arms box forces male age tables and raises the pass total to 210. That checkbox does not invent a fourth event. It only changes which table row and which total bar apply on test day.

These charts answer “USMC PFT standards” and “Marine Corps PFT standards” lookups on the same URL as the scorer. They are reference rows, not a substitute for your unit’s official scorecard.

Reading class, pass, and the next bar

After you enter raw scores, the panel shows three event scores and a total out of 300. The badge names your class when you pass. Under the event rows, the next-bar line tells you how many points you still need for the next class or for a pass if you are below the total line. That feedback is what turns a static table into a training tool.

Use a marine corps pt test calculator session the way a monitor would: fix form first, then chase points. A Marine at 198 total is one hard pull-up set or a faster final mile from 2nd class. A Marine at 232 is three points from 1st class. The copy button saves the total, class, and next-bar text for a notebook or group chat.

Applicants and prior-service Marines often search for a marine corps fitness test calculator when they mean the PFT. This page is that scorer. Body composition for Marines uses a separate height-weight and tape process; it is not mixed into the 300-point PFT total here. For Army waist-to-height screening, use the body fat tool linked below.

Training notes that keep you on the page

Pull-ups respond to greasing the groove and heavy negatives more than to random high-rep sets the week of the test. If you are stuck on push-ups, remember the 70-point ceiling: improving push-ups helps you pass, but it cannot create a 300. Plan a pull-up progression if 1st class or a max packet score is the goal.

Plank training is mostly time-under-tension with honest form. Practice at the 40-point floor until it is boring, then build toward 3:45. Because the plank scale is shared, older age groups do not get an easier core event—only different run and upper-body rows.

Three-mile pace work beats random sprints for PFT day. Know your 40-point and 100-point times from the standards section, then set workouts between those poles. Recheck this calculator after each tempo run so you see whether the next class bar moved.

Combat arms Marines should train to the male tables and the 210 total even in practice. Unchecking combat arms to “see a better class” on a female table does not match how a combat arms scorecard is graded. Keep the checkbox honest so the next-bar line matches your MOS reality.

USMC PFT FAQ

How is the USMC PFT scored?

Three events, up to 100 points each, 300 maximum. Enter pull-ups or push-ups, plank, and 3-mile run. You need at least 40 on every event and 150 total (210 for combat arms). This USMC PFT Calculator interpolates between the published min and max rows for your age and sex.

How many points for a 1st class PFT?

1st class is 235–300 with every event at 40 or higher. 2nd class is 200–234. 3rd class is 150–199. The result panel’s next-bar line shows how many points you still need to climb.

Did the 2026 PFT standards change?

The PFT is still pull-ups or push-ups, plank, and 3-mile under MCO 6100.13A. Combat arms Marines continue to use male tables with a 210 total. Confirm any new MARADMIN with your unit before a recorded test; this page’s verified date is in the hero badge.

What is the difference between the PFT and the CFT?

The PFT is the Physical Fitness Test scored on this page. The CFT is the Combat Fitness Test with different events and its own scorecard. Do not enter CFT raw scores here. Use the CFT placeholder in related tools when that calculator launches.

Can you max a USMC PFT with push-ups?

No. Push-ups cap at 70 points, so the best possible total on the push-up option is 270. Choose pull-ups for a path to 300.

What replaced crunches on the PFT?

The forearm plank. Crunches ended 31 December 2022. From 1 January 2023 every Marine holds a plank: 1:10 for 40 points and 3:45 for 100, with no age or sex split on that event.
